Since its creation the COD series has become a classic among fps fan, infinity wards creation of modern warfare bought the game into the 21st century and modern warfare became an instant hit in the playstation community, modern warfare 2 was one of the most hyped games in the history of games, getting itself a movie style premier. The box art shows off the basic idea of the game, action , intensity and fighting alone.
===story/background===
The sequel is set 5 years in the futures form the origional and many of the characters have been carried over. the game is played through two groups , task force 141 , essentiialy an assasination sqaud, and the us army rangers who are set with the task of defending america from an incoming russian attack. Along the way you glob trot across afghanistan ,brazil , america and siberia. The game starts you off in afganistan , as you help train the local milita , pretty soon your thrown into action and that action dosnt stop for the entirety of the game.
===gameplay===
As i said before , this game is action packed . The control system is very similar to alot of offer fps games so newcomers shouldnt find the controls too difficult. The difficulty of the game , even on the lowest level is challenging without being frustrating, there are 3 levels of play avialable , and for seasoned players there is veteran mode which makes the game incredibly diificult. The game offers many different area to fight in which all offer up there own challenges and dangers, a good example of this is the serbian level where the snow is so heavy , you must rely on the heartbeat sensor to find your enemys.
New to the game is spec ops mode , this mode gives you challenges based in the campaigns areas , this is a arcadey style mode as challenges are along the lines of take out so many enemies or survive so many waves of enemies. The addition of offline multiplayer also means its a great game to play with your mates at home , which is something the campaign lacks.
Finally the online , the main reason many purchase this game. The online is as good as ever and brings a load of new guns and perks, players who are used to playing cod online will find this exciting , however for newcomers to the franchise , the amount of options and perks can be daunting.
===Graphics===
The graphics in this game are superb , and really show off the playsations capabilities. Every area you play in is just as beautiful as the last and the guns and explosives all look really realistic, this adds to the overall excitement of the game as the realism draws you in.
===Sound===
The sounds in this game are very well done and sound very realistic. As you run around the world the flying bullets and explosions deffinatley keep your heart racing . especially with a sorround sound system.
===overall===
overall its a fantastic game which will definatley last a year , as long as your intrested in the online section of the game , worth a buy 9/10.

Now I'm not exactly an expert on these kind of games as I usually just get stuck into footy games like Fifa or Pro Evo and get massively addicted to Football Manager. However, this has got me completely hooked on first person shooters. Granted the game itself on your own probably hasn't got a great deal of legs as it didn't take me long to get through it but the beauty of the game has got to be in playing online. Never have I been more satisfied then when I get the most kills of a senior rank in a Free-for-all!!!

A must buy - not flawless (the most important of which is that this brilliant game is over much too quickly, I wanted a lot more.) The story could have been better and better linked together, but this is a stunning title and a must for every gamer. The set pieces, the voice acting, the look and feel of the game are truly fantastic - A Gr8 game!
