Harry Potter Lego August 20, 2010 llllucy ok, urm, im actually a 13 year old girl, so technically this is a kids review. I thought you might need to know the kind of persons opinion you are reading :L. i am on my mums account too. Ok, so, about the game....
this game.....is brilliant. i have seen some reviews about the Dungeon of Doom? me and brother have not got to this point of the game but when we do i think we will be more cautious because we know people are getting trapped, so we will be more careful. But we haven't experienced any problems so far. We are just starting year 2 and i can't wait till my brother gets home so we can get going again. We played it for hours yesterday when we got it and we probably will today as well! I must say, i REALLY enjoy the short clips...probably more than i should, lol. The lego sense of humour is fab and the graphics are awesome. i'm glad we chose to get it on the ps3 and not the wii.
My brother is a 16 year old experienced gamer and so he does most of hard/tricky/complicated...well, he does most if it, but i enjoy it just as much as he does. it's great how you can play as animals such as, Ron's rat and Hagrids dog. The only thing so far that i can think of as a downside is:
we haven't got many True Wizards (this is a bar and the bar fills up when you collect those little bolt things, and when the bar reaches the top, you are rewarded a True Wizard, and a gold brick) and also not very many House Crests. you get these by figuring out a way to unlock them during play and you collect one for each House (Griffindor, Ravenclaw..ect) and if you get all 4 you get a gold brick. but me and my brother are the kind of gamers that stay a long time in each area to make sure we have collected everything possible. So where on earth were the other House Crests that we couldn't find? And we were once very surprised when a level ended because we had only 58% of the true Wizard complete. So, where were the other bolts?
However, that would be stupid thing to put you off buying this game. it is not as addictive as other games we have had but im really really glad i found it on here.
...i wanna play it now but i can't :( have to wait for my brother :L hurry up bro, im bouncing up and down here!
hope this helped :)
Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 by Dominic and Thomas August 19, 2010 No gliches, funny video clips, brillant graphics best lego game so far. You don't have to stay in the same place as your partner as you can switch from single screen to split screen alowing you to wander around. You have different spells that you can use throughout the game. You can also use Harry's cloak and use pets (Ron's Scabbers) to help you along the way! Once you have completed all the levels it's not over! You still have to collect all the Gold Bricks and be a "True Wizard". Also have to collect all the characters so on Free Play you can be them. Overall this is a great addition to the Lego Series and me and my brother can't wait for more witchcraft and wizardry from the next Lego Harry Potter Game!!!
A great game! :D August 14, 2010 Kris I've recently purchased this game, and I love it. :D
The levels are a little short, but the re-playablity in 'Free Play' more than make up for it.
It's wonderfully designed, and the graphics are cute and funny.
The cutscenes aren't skippable, but watch a few and you'll never want to skip them again anyway.
I personally haven't gotten to the Dragon Room, yet, but I hope this doesn't happen.
Before I installed it, I had to do an update, so I'm praying it's been fixed through this.
Overall, a wonderful representation of the world of 'The Boy Who Lived' and I can't wait on Year 5-7 coming out. :D
dont know about any bug but i think this game is well worth buying August 12, 2010 jasmine I thoroughly enjoyed this game and was suprised after buying this game to see that it had so many bad reviews, and i wuld recommend it to all ages. I didnt have any glicthes and think that overall the game funny and disagree with some previous comments saying that its bad that u hav to hav certain characters that u havnt unlocked yet to complete the level. The idea is to come bak to it once u hav unlocked them , which i think is better as it makes the game longer to complete , and unlike the 5th harry potter game, u actually hav things still to do after having completed the main story line instead of walking around aimlessly.
sorry for writing an essay here but feel the need to defend the game after all the rubbish reviews its had!
dont listen to the others, this game is good and i reckon u shuld buy it!
A good Lego title, but way too bug riddled August 12, 2010 J. N. Bailey I've played all of the Lego games so far....I was reluctant to bu this one at first after the awful Indiana Jones 2, but saw some reviews on here, which mentioned that the idea of a central hub was back etc so parted with my cash.....
Only to then find out the game had a potential game stopping bug, now known as the infamous dragon room bug. anyway, later on a getout method was announced so we(myself and the wife), started to play the game and we have spent many hours getting to 199 out of the 200 gold bricks. I have everything else in the game, apart from the last character, which you need 200 bricks for...
Since then I have trawled through the walkthroughs, downloaded the latest patch, but still no joy. I can't help feling that the dragon room didn't give me two gold bricks, or a glitch in another room stopped me recieving the last brick....
anyway, the game is very good and did give many hours of enjoyment, but for completists, i think you will be lucky to get 100% given the amount of bugs this game contains....
what I am struggling with is how come the SW series is pretty clean, when all the others are riddled with bugs? The same thing happenned in Batman, I couldn't get the last minikit thingy...
Anyway, rant over now, I have spent enough time on this bug riddled game and I'm keen to download Monkey Island from PSN..!!!!!
