Bad company, more Killzone 2 than Modern Warfare July 31, 2010 Mercano The single player game is good fun, although some sections can be frustrating.
The multiplayer games (which are the FPS' more popular game types) are limited in variety but fun nonetheless.
Bad Company 2 has a wide variety of vehicles to play with from ATVs to tanks up to helicopters, these are great fun and if you can get hold of a helicopter (without crashing after ten seconds), it can be very frustrating for other team.
A word of caution, the multiplayer game is rather buggy. One of the bugbears I have is that when sniping bits of the maps appear and disappear and I have found that (on my PS3 anyway) the game crashes occasionally.
I did not find an awful lot of difference in the multiplayer between this and Killzone 2 apart from a larger weapon selection and the aforementioned vehicles. The gameplay can be a bit frantic at times (which is a good thing).
If you are a CoD fan then this plays a fair bit different, which I found a refreshing change. I did find myself going back to Killzone 2 for a bit.
The maps are a fair size which is a plus. A fun thing is that a significant proportion of the maps are destroyable (as like Red Faction: Guerilla) which makes for some interesting tactical options like collapsing a building because there is a sniper on the roof.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 July 28, 2010 Matthew W. Linehan (Bristol) I'm new to the Battlefield series, but this game has certainly won me over. The game excels on every level: graphically, audio, in terms of gameplay and control, and overall presentation.
The campaign features a series of 12 levels played as Bad Company and one tutorial level played as a squad during World War II. The whole story weaves together beautifully and there's enough suspense and plot twists to keep even a die-hard 24 fan happy! The 'Normal' setting is a fair standard for a beginner, there are plenty of checkpoints and a good number of challenging firefights. However, this mode allows for less tactical play. The 'Hard' campaign is an enjoyable and rarely frustrating challenge, this mode requires the player to think tactically, to plan and to take into consideration cover and environmental hazards. It would be very difficult to simply storm through the whole game on hard difficulty.
The cover system is a particular highlight: most of the environments in the game are destructible at least to some degree. This provides a genuinely satisfying and innovative take on contemporary warfare games. The graphics in the campaign are also beautiful and cover a lot of different locations. Once the campaign is completed, there is plenty of scope for playing it again to locate the M-Com stations and any weapons that may have been missed along the way.
The multiplayer is also an excellent experience; the locations feel like real 'battlefields', particularly due to the inclusion of vehicles accessible to any player. The multiplayer maps also continue from the campaign story, which is a clever touch. The 'tagging' system, which allows players to point out enemy targets to other members of their team is a great creation, as is the spawning system, which limits the amount of times a particular team may spawn before reaching their objective. Furthermore, the player may choose to join a squad, allowing them to spawn beside other members of their squad when shot, rather than always starting again from the bases (the maps are huge).
The graphics in the multiplayer are not quite as polished as in the campaign, but the game still looks and performs to a very high standard. There are also map packs and a large collection of other extras, which can enhance the gameplay.
Overall I would rate this game slightly shy of 5/5, the lack of local multiplayer is slightly disappointing, as this is a game that I'd really like to share with friends. But the online multiplayer is great fun and there is certainly enough in this game to keep the player coming back for more.
Overall, a fantastic game, well worth the money, especially at the discount price that you can pick it up for on Amazon.
good game July 27, 2010 Frederico Good game. The maps in online gaming are too big!
Modern warfare 2 is more fun!!!
War: Never been so much fun July 25, 2010 D0menat0r7 (Great Britian) If you're not in this for the multiplayer, then knock down 1 stars of the rating. This is bigger and better then Modern Warfare 2, the work put into this is magnificent, Alone it's campaign is alright and well told, but the online it's bordering on pure genius. Battlefield Bad Company 2 is quite possibly and is the best online shooter out there. Prepare for the best action pack shooter there is.
Amazing better than COD July 22, 2010 grovester5 amazing!! better than COD 4 5 and 6. Online is FANTASTIC as is the campaign however I warn you the first mission isnt brilliant.
